My Golf Caddy (MGC) is a full featured personal golf assistant. MGC was designed for ease and speed of use so you can concentrate on playing golf and not be distracted by lengthy data entry

Scorecard

• Simplified scoring system designed for speed of entry and records holes statistics including: score, putts, hole par, hole yardage, and fairways hit

Statistics

• Records and displays a Handicap Index (min 5 rounds, up to most recent 20 rounds)
• Displays average percentage of fairways hit, greens in regulation, and putts per round for all recorded rounds
• Displays total pars, birdies, eagles for all completed rounds
• Round graphs of last 20 rounds - scoring and putts per round graphs
• Accepts 9 or 18 hole scoring but all statistics/handicap info is based on completed 18 hole rounds only

Hole-By-Hole GPS (in-app purchase)

• Displays yardage from current location to green front/center/back, sand bunker front, as well as water hazard front/back locations. Graphically displays yardages on satellite hole map from tee to green
• One-touch switching from current round scorecard to hole-by-hole GPS and back. Click on last row of scorecard on the desired hole to show that hole on GPS screen, click on home icon on GPS screen to switch back to scorecard
• Yardage rings at 100, 150, 200 yards from green center
• One-touch switching showing yardages from current location to bunkers or water hazards
• Move the crosshairs to any target on screen to show distance from current location to target and target to center of green
• Currently over 17,000+ GPS mapped US courses in the database covering all states

Target Tracker

• Target Tracker provides distance from your current location to any target on the golf course
• Using Target Tracker is simple and easy - just hit the "Find Me" button and the view zooms in to a satellite image of your current location as determined by the GPS. Simply move the crosshairs to your selected target and the distance to that target is displayed

Shot Tracker

• Measure shot distance in yards or metres and record the club that was hit
• Display club distance statistics including average shot distance per club and min/max distances for each club

Rules of Golf

• Includes most common illustrated golf rules - out of bounds, water hazards, lost ball, unplayable lies, provisionals, teeing ground, and FAQ

Swing Analyzer

• Records and stores full motion video of swing (must have a camera on device that can record video)
• Record and playback swing videos frame-by-frame at up to 240 FPS on swing videos recorded with the device camera
• Drawing tools (draw lines in colors) to improve swing plane, spine angle, head movement, address positions
• Tap to add a circle, pinch to change circle diameter
• Play, pause, and rewind video

iPad Users: Course and Hole GPS require an iPad with a cellular signal, WiFi only iPads will not have enough accuracy for GPS use

Pros and cons of My Golf Caddy app for iPhone and iPad

My Golf Caddy app good for

Great app. Does all that it says. Keeps track of all your stats. Couple drawbacks...doesnt save the par for each individual hole for the course your playing. Kind of a chore entering par everytime I play my home course. The scorecard, not too complicated, but can be more user/golfer friendly. Fix these two things and Id give this 5 stars. Also, if possible, a stroke/putt counter that automatically integrates your score at the end of a hole to your score card. This would also be a great place to put your drive location after each tee off. Otherwise, all new updates rock. I would and have recommended this app to anyone who will listen.
I used this app on vacation for the week I was there. Worked great didnt have a problem at all. I loved how you you could chose what you did wrong so i would mess it up the next time (but I still screwed it up haha). All in all awesome totally recomended A+++
Ive tried several golf apps but this hands down is the best. Takes full advantage of GPS functionality in iPhone 4 with satellite images. No more downloading course maps! Brilliant!
Love this app... Great value for the money - great GPS features, course maps are great to find your way to the course, lots of stats to improve your game. Creative way to use the iPhone GPS, just move the cross hairs to any target on the satellite view and it shows your distance to that target. No need to buy those expensive $20+ apps! I am using on my iPhone and iPad and can share all my rounds and stats between the two, no bugs that I can find as reported in another review.
I really like this app so far... Played my first round today with My Golf Caddy and found it to be the best golf app Ive tried yet. Very intuitive, easy to use scorecard. LIke the shot tracker - great way to keep track of how far you are hitting your clubs! Only suggestion is adding stableford and side bets...
Purchased My Golf Caddy today for my iPad 3G and was very surprised by the wide variety of cool things in the application. Scorecard is easy to use, good stats, and very creative way to use GPS to get your distances to the green. GPS is not as thorough as Golfshot but works good for getting distances to sand traps, greens, ect within a few yards. Also, good for checking out overhead satellite views of the course layout before or during play. Like the swing analysis videos, again, not as thorough as other dedicated swing video apps but does cover the basics. Would be better if iPad had a camera, though. You have to load videos from your computer onto your iPad. Still working my way through other parts of the app, but its good so far.

Some bad moments

I suppose I expected it to download all golf course information, like pin position, par, slope, etc. The GPS worked alright but took to long when I needed my distance right now! I also found that the distance was not always accurate, when was past the 150 marker and it told me I had 243 yrds to go. I will play with it again to try to become more familiar with other features, but 1st impression isnt great.
Was a great app until 2 updates ago. Now when I try to use shot tracker, the app closes. Tried re-installing and didnt help. Great app for the price when working 100%. Was hands down the best app Ive purchased so far. Please fix. Also if the gps map could be updated, played a course last weekend and when I tried to use the gps, apparently I was standing in a field. Course was 5 years old.
No review as the program crashes on start. Avoid until fixed. Bug reported.
Misleading iPad application. Dont buy it, it not good for anythingp
After installing, the app worked for a day and now quits before opening a scoring menu. The developer will not respond to help requests. Save your money and avoid the frustration.
After purchase of app, then have to purchase course info. The functions are disappointing. You will spend more time fiddling with this app, then playing golf. There is no easy way to move between the scorecard and getting distance info. Lot of waisting time. There are better apps out there, and they are mostly free. I wish I would have tried a few before purchasing this one
